Projects I have made in my Communication Production Classes. This will be ongoing for another 2 years. These projects were shot on Panasonic Gh5 and edited using Adobe Premier Pro.

COM ARTS 355: Introduction to Media Production

A SITCOM

My favorite media that I wrote directed and edited.

This was the final project of the class. It was a Narrative Piece, one of my favorite pieces I ever got to do. This is where we got full creative freedom, all we had to include was a match on action and POV shot. I chose to do a sitcom, and this is one of my favorite projects I have ever done, from pre-production to post. I got the chance to write a professionalscriptand do Pre-Viz by creating astoryboard. I wrote, directed, edited, and even got the opportunity to act on it (I am not an actor we did not have any other resources but nonetheless enjoy!) We had so much fun making it.

MINI DOCUMENTARY: THE EXPOSURE OF SCIENCE HALL

For this project I worked with a partner to produce a short documentary or non-fiction video centered around an interview, b-roll images that we produced. We found an interview subject; Howard Vereign who told us about the history of a historic building on UW-Campus- Science Hall. We then edited it together with music, images and graphic to create a moving and impactful 3-5 minute documentary.

MOVE ME: DRINK ALMOND MILK

This project was a 1 minute Move-Me, where I produced a 60 second commercial for Silk Milk containing text, graphics and music. I wrote and A/V script for the project to pre-visualize and plan my shots. I was not allowed to have dialog or directly address the camera. I need 20 distance shots to tell my story visually and needed to edit my shots together to create a moving and impactful video.

COMARTS465: Editing and Post-production for Video and Film

THE HOLD UP

This project focused around continuity editing. We got given this bank robbing scene and had to intentionally expose information in a specific order for audience engagement.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD TRAILER

For this project we had to edit a 60-90 second movie trailer around the 1968 movie Night of the Living Dead. No external use of sound or audio was allowed. Everything had to be extracted strictly from the movie itself. It also needed a freeze frame and text.

ANTHONY BOURDAIN CHICAGO

My first project for this editing class, which was to make a 1 minute video using only images over an Anthony Bourdain monologue about Chicago. This project focused on keyframes and making sure every image moved in some way. I challenged myself into learning new transitions and how to edit images to give the illusion of an object moving.

COM ARTS: 155 Introduction to Digital Media Production

A CASE OF FOMO

This was a storytelling Podcast Assignment. I recorded it with my roommate, recalling when we got stuck in an elevator. Focusing in on sound, and making sure we had no background static.

For our final project in this class, we were given complete creative freedom to produce a short video. My group decided to focus on showcasing the beauty of the UW-Madison campus. We intentionally chose not to include dialogue, as this would allow the contrast between the two clips to stand out more dramatically.
